Gustav Benjamin Schwab (19 de junio de 1792 – 4 de noviembre de 1850) fue un escritor, profesor, pastor evangélico y editor alemán. Nacido en Stuttgart, estudió filología, filosofía y teología en la Universidad de Tübingen, y más tarde se dedicó a la enseñanza secundaria y al ministerio pastoral. Como autor, es especialmente conocido por su obra Sagen des klassischen Altertums (1838-1840), una recopilación de mitos y leyendas de la Antigüedad clásica que tuvo gran difusión en el ámbito educativo alemán.

En su labor literaria, Schwab destaca por adaptar con elegancia y didactismo los relatos mitológicos griegos, acercando un mundo antiguo complejo a lectores más jóvenes y a la educación popular. Aunque no se registran premios literarios de su autoría, su impacto radica en haber influido en la recepción de la antigüedad clásica en las escuelas alemanas y por su papel como mediador cultural entre los clásicos y una generación emergente.
