La escritora Erica Falk está embarazada de ocho meses. En busca de descanso, se instala junto a su compañero, el detective Patrik Hedström, en la bonita población costera de Fjällbacka. Pero las vacaciones de la joven pareja duran poco. En efecto, un niño encuentra casualmente el cadáver de una turista y Patrik deberá volver a trabajar antes de lo esperado. Camilla Läckberg (Sweden, 1974) published her first novel, The Ice Princess, in 2003, set in Fjällbacka, the coastal region where she was born and raised. Due to its great success, she left her career as an economist and became the mystery novelist she always dreamed of being.

She has been recognized, among others, with the Woman of the Year award in Sweden, the Folket awards and the SKTF award for Best Author of the Year, the Grand Prize for Crime Literature in France, and the People's Literature Award.
