Synopsis "Making Music with the Shakers"

Kevin Hughes' first work of nonfiction-Making Music with the Shakers-chronicles his experience as a member of Albuquerque's most popular New Wave rock band, active in the early 1980s. His colorful narrative explores the life of a working musician; the creative process for writing, learning, and playing songs; the joys and pitfalls of this lifestyle; and the often-humorous episodes that occurred as the band toured New Mexico nightclubs and roadhouses.
