Synopsis "Midnight's Scream: A Complicated Study of Violence Against Women"
Sana becomes a prey of marital rape on very first night of her marriage. Due to menstruation she was unable to offer herself to her husband but he forced her. He raped her and beat her brutally. She called her family members for help. Her brothers and parents came. They instead of taking her side or helping her became busy to save the marriage and asked for forgiveness from the son-in-law. Sohail is the ex-boyfriend (lover) of Sana. When he hears this sad incident happened with Sana, he becomes very sad. When he informs the matter to his mother, she does not believe that a husband can rape his wife - she cannot even imagine that it is possible. Rather she blames Sana. She suspects that her husband may have known any secret of her life as she used to keep relation with multiple boys.Sohail loves her very much and she too. But Sohail was unsuccessful to win her as he was poor. Her father was very rich and didn't accept their relation. He married her to a rich business man rejecting Sohail's proposal. Sohail was very close to her and used to do college assignment together. She used to share even family secrets to Sohail as she started taking him more than friend.Soahil is still unemployed and madly searching for a job. He faced a lot of competitions to get a government job but remained unsuccessful. His mother suggests him to do farming with his father but he wants to be a rich man. He gets an interview call from Delhi. After making a horrible train journey due to overcrowd in the coaches he reached Delhi. But his interview was not conducted on that day as the number of candidates were much more. He was asked to come next day.He tried to find a shelter in a cheap guest house but it was not possible due to financial problem. He decided to pass the night with homeless beggars and laborers on the pavements. At night he hears screaming sound of a girl from a moving vehicle but he was so tired that he could not help her. Afterwards he hears another screaming sound of a girl and it was coming from the underground parking of the building near the place where he was sleeping.He woke up the beggars and laborers and ran to help the victim. When they reached there they saw a girl in a wretched condition - she was beaten brutally and a cold-drink bottle was inserted into her private part. They took her to hospital. She informed the police that she was from Nepal. Her father sold her to some agents expecting that she will get a job in hotel but they forced her to do prostitution. Soahil's timely help saved her.Next day he attends interview. A strange interview he attends. He is asked to wait few days for result. Retuning time he met a gentleman who promised him a job of salesman in Delhi. He returned home and came to know that Sana tried to suicide. He went to meet her. He promised that he will save her and told her to come and stay in his home. Sana felt little hope after meeting Sohail. Sana's father felt sorry for his mistake.Sohail joined the company as salesman and here he met Mrs Anjali who was a victim of sexual exploitation in her work place.
