Synopsis "Night Project"

Earth is dying. Millions have fled. Now it's Kara's turn. It's the end of the Second Golden Age of Space Exploration, and Kara Sti is one of the lucky few to secure a position on one of the last ships leaving Earth. As an engineer, she'll hold an important role in the Light of Resurrection's mission: to find the U.S.S. Mercury, which disappeared on its way to the Tau System, twelve light years away. But alongside her crew, Kara and the others discover something much more menacing and, after a catastrophic failure, are swept up in an adventure that takes them across the reaches of deep space. On another ship, Captain Evert and his crew have been traveling for over a century, seeking a new home for humanity. When his crew locate a lost orbital shuttle and take in Kara and her teammates, together the new group has an opportunity to pursue an alien transmitting signal-and perhaps have the first contact with a strange, sentient race. But when they arrive on location, they find something they weren't expecting...and realize they may have awakened something sinister.
