María Menéndez-Ponte, born in A Coruña, is a prominent Spanish writer specializing in children's and young adult literature. She began her Law studies at the University of Santiago de Compostela and, after living five years in New York, graduated from the UNED. Later, she earned a degree in Hispanic Philology in Madrid.
