English summary: Gleixner's study of the practice of piety of the learned middle class in Protestant south Germany shows that the special mixture of Lutheran Pietism, middle class living conditions and gender produced a new middle class culture. German description: Im Zentrum der Untersuchung steht die kulturelle Dimension von Religion. Vorgestellt werden Subjektentwurf, Frommigkeitspraxis und Lebensbewaltigung der Frauen, Manner und Kinder des pietistisch gepragten und akademisch gebildeten Burgertums Altwurttembergs sowie dessen kommunikative Gruppenkultur und Traditionsbildung. Als Spiritualisierung des Alltags lasst sich die neue und eigene Kultur dieses Burgertums auf den Begriff bringen. Erstaunlich viele pietistisch-burgerliche Kulturtechniken verweisen in sakularisierter Form auf die burgerliche Kultur der Moderne. Die Untersuchungszeit setzt nach dem Dreiaigjahrigen Krieg mit der Entstehung pietistischer Frommigkeit an und fuhrt uber das 18. Jahrhundert in die Praxis pietistisch-burgerlicher Frommigkeit bis zur Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts.
