Ann M. Martin es una escritora estadounidense de literatura infantil y juvenil, reconocida mundialmente por crear la exitosa serie The Baby-Sitters Club. Nació el 12 de agosto de 1955 en Princeton. Desde pequeña mostró un gran interés por la lectura y la escritura, influenciada por los libros que encontraba en la biblioteca de su escuela y por las historias que imaginaba junto a sus amigos.

Estudió Educación Primaria en Smith College y trabajó como maestra antes de incorporarse al mundo editorial.
