"Remembering Residency" is a collection of poems that reflects on the experiences of a young physician during his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. It contains encounters with disease, and with the patients that have shaped and molded his point of view. He describes experiences such as helping patients through addiction, loneliness, bereavement, and physical illness. It is an exploration of the physician's role in times of suffering, of loss, of grace, and of healing. In this book there is deep sadness but there is also joy and hope. There is something in it for anyone who has ever wondered what it is like to see through your physician's eyes, or who has ever carried the burden of illness and sought healing.
