Synopsis "Romancero (in Spanish)"

Derivado muy probablemente del cantar de gesta, el romance surge de la necesidad humana de expresarse ante un hecho intenso de la realidad en la que vive. En este sentido, el ROMANCERO -entendido como agrupación de romances- se aleja de quienes lo consideran una muestra literaria esencialmente española, para ser una manifestación que forma parte de un ámbito mayor: la balada europea. La presente edición de Alejandro González Segura se centra sobre todo en el llamado Romancero viejo, aunque añade unas cuantas muestras de autores del siglo xvi (Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Quevedo y Góngora). Dejando aparte la división temática o cronológica de los textos que propone el preparador, en todos ellos encontramos lo que el romance es: canto (sujeto por tanto a unas determinadas leyes métricas) y cuento que relata una historia, es decir, una mezcla de lo lírico y lo narrativo, en la que se entrelazan lo culto y lo popular, lo leído y lo escrito, lo bello y lo siniestro, en suma, la vida y la muerte.

In other cases, anonymity may be due to political or security reasons, especially when the content of the work is controversial or challenging for the time it was published.
