(Bogotá, 1975) earned a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid. Studied at the University of Berkeley, California, where he completed his thesis on Art Anthropology. In 2008, he published The Revenge of Imagination. Anthropology of Creation Processes: Mario Vargas Llosa and José Alejandro Restrepo. His essays have been translated into Portuguese and French and have appeared in various compilations. Since 2006, he has been a regular contributor to this magazine and since 2010 publishes essays on literature in the culture section of the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo. He has given lectures on literature and art at universities and cultural institutions in Colombia, Spain, and Algeria. In 2011, he published The Invisible Fist, for which he received the Isabel Polanco International Essay Prize.
