Synopsis "Schlurfkatzen (in German)"

Die Wiener Schlurfs und Schlurfkatzen haben sich whrend der 1940er-Jahre mutig gegen die Nazi-Ideologie gestellt und gemeinsam gegen die Unterdrckung angetanzt. Autorin Barbara Kadletz stellt die fast vergessene Widerstandsbewegung in ihrer von Jorghi Poll illustrierten Graphic Novel ins Rampenlicht. Seit Luise kurz vor Kriegsbeginn bei einem Konzert der Vibraphonistin Vera Auer (1919-1996) war, ist sie Jazzfan und verpasst keine Gelegenheit, Swing zu tanzen und die Musik live zu hren. Allerdings gilt Jazz im Nationalsozialismus als entartete Kunst, und Swing zu tanzen ist seit September 1939 behrdlich verboten. Von den Nazis wegen ihres Musikgeschmacks und ihres Styles geringschtzig als Schlurfs und Schlurfkatzen bezeichnet, bernehmen die Jugendlichen selbstbewusst diesen Begriff und feiern im Untergrund ihre Subkultur.
