Synopsis "Ser Aprendiz, Aprender a Ser: Ensayo Sobre la Iniciación Masónica (Autores Contemporáneos) (in Spanish)"

Born on February 20, 1956 in Bilbao. A student of the Jesuits, and a scout, during high school he also pursued his university studies at the University of the Society of Jesus at the University of Deusto where he graduated in 1977.
He practiced as a Lawyer of the Bar Associations of Bilbao, Vitoria, and Madrid 1978-1982. His fondness for detective novels and the search for thrills led him to be a Professor of Law at the Academy of the Ertzaintza −Basque Police− in the first Promotion 1981-1982. He has been, and continues to be, a Lawyer of the Legal Services of the Basque Government since 1982.

His philosophical concerns led him to join freemasonry at the Lodge La Tolerancia in Bilbao precisely in 1981, the year of the failed coup d'état by Lieutenant Colonel Tejero. In freemasonry, he became Grand Master of the Grand Symbolic Lodge of Spain (Spanish freemasonry) 1997-2000 and is also a Member of the Supreme Masonic Council of Spain 33º, having co-founded the Lodges Manuel Iradier (Vitoria-Gasteiz), Ariadna (Seville) and Theorema (Study Lodge of the GLSE-GOEU).

This associative hobby has led him to participate in other initiatives such as Gesto Por la Paz, Ayuda en Acción España, the Royal Basque Society of Friends of the Country, Association of Writers of Euskadi/Euskadiko Idazleen Elkartea, or L’Alliance Française-Pays Basque and to regularly attend the Dinner Talks of the Club de los Iguales in Vitoria, Bilbao, and in Madrid as well as the meetings of the Oratorio Ioannes de Liçarraga (Anglican Communion).
