Synopsis "Someone Cares"

Someone Cares shares the moving account of Alan Ritson's involvement with The Salvation Army relief services during the tragedy on September 11, 2001, and many of the life events that led up to that moment. With humor, honesty, and insight about an organization some readers may not know much about, this book also serves as a reminder that not only is God present in every life event, big or small, but his guidance is as well. Has God ever sent you an angel? Are angels God's shepherds herding us down the winding path of life? Who can say where the Lord's hand will lead us? Someone Cares shares many examples of angelical experiences which were Alan's guiding force through much of his life. His faith in our almighty God's grace and the power of the Lord is the strength behind those convictions. Proverbs 16:9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. about the author As a life-long Salvationist Alan Ritson's passion for serving those in need evolved into a career that answered God's call. Alan served in many different programs for The Salvation Army before becoming the Director of Disaster Services, first, in Washington D.C., then in the Texas Division. He coordinated relief efforts for many natural and man-made disasters throughout the country. Alan was dispatched from Texas to support The Salvation Army in NYC throughout the months following the tragedy of 9/11. Alan has felt the Lord's presence throughout his life but the pull to lead was never directed toward the pulpit. Instead, serving the poor, the needy, and the traumatized victims of disasters has always been his true ministry.
