Monica Hughes OC (November 3, 1925 - March 7, 2003) was an Anglo-Canadian author of children's and young adult books, especially science fiction. She also wrote historical and adventure novels set in Canada, and the text for some illustrated children's books. She may be best known for the Isis trilogy of science fiction novels for young adults (1980-1982)
