It features full colour reproductions of original artwork, handwritten lyrics, photographs and collected personal artefacts along with commentary and meditations from Nick Cave, Janine Barrand and Darcey Steinke. The book has been developed and curated by Nick Cave in collaboration with Christina Back. The images were selected from 'Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition', opening at the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen in March 2020.

Nicholas Edward Cave, better known as Nick Cave (Warracknabeal, Australia, 1957) is an Australian musician, writer, and actor, mainly famous for being the singer and songwriter in the music group Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Besides composing for his band, as a writer he has published novels and collections of poetry. Cave released his first book, King Ink, in 1988.
