Thersa Matsuura es una autora estadounidense que ha vivido la mitad de su vida en el Japón rural. Ser fluida en japonés le permite explorar partes menos conocidas de la cultura, cuentos folclóricos oscuros, extrañas supersticiones y curiosos mitos. Utiliza esta investigación para inspirar sus propias historias.

Thersa es autora de dos colecciones de cuentos cortos: A Robe of Feathers and Other Stories (Counterpoint LLC, 2009) y The Carp-Faced Boy and Other Tales (Independent Legions Press, 2017). Este último fue finalista para un premio Bram Stoker (2017). A lo largo de los años, también ha publicado cuentos y artículos en diversas revistas, diarios, antologías y serializados en periódicos.
