This is one of the most atmospheric books I have read in a long time. It is extremely well written and keeps you hooked with a constant suggestion of dread. While it would fall into the category of animal horror, it is much more than that, very much demonstrating the arrogance of man and their constant desire to prove they can control all around them while completely missing the obvious. Very Poe like in the way the author uses pros to unnerve you.
