Synopsis "The Dead or Alive Detective Agency and Hair Salon: Goodbye, Warhol"

In sunny Naples, Florida, home to a murder of millionaires, the collective art alone could fill a museum. So why all the fuss about some missing trinkets? When a 1933 Chicago World's fair charm goes missing, a private eye is called in to help. Enter Dody Dixon, a down on her luck fifty-something-beauty, who strives to be the best, but often falls short. Waiting in the wings to assist, is her posse of wannabes: Cosmo, hair-stylist-extraordinaire, whose tongue is sharper than his scissors, Martin, with his delusions of gourmet, owner of a food truck with giant chickens blazoned on the logo proclaiming 'CHICKEN BALLS AND ALL', and Poppy, the heiress, who hears otherworldly voices and not-for-primetime visions unless her foil headband is screwed on tight. They follow the clues, and as happens when you pull a tiger's tail, they uncover a ring of art thieves so sly, the art owners don't even know their paintings are missing. Luckily, Dody's closest law enforcement buddy, the handsome Deputy Tommy Ray, (who Cosmo believes might just be the next Mr. Dody Dixon) lends a hand. It turns into good sheriff bad sheriff when her nemesis, Sheriff Percival T. Snodgrass, stumbles in and out of their adventure. As the plot thickens, Dody meets her match in nonagenarian Ninja Maid, Miss Pennington, who is so adept with the poles on her backpack-vacuum; it should be classified as a dangerous weapon. Dody hopes their adventure, which started with death, won't end with it. At least not hers.
