And as such, he hopes, it may reach a wider audience. Gay has chosen his title with deliberation. Not only has he reduced his earlier volume to its essentials, but, as he argues, unless sinners know and experience the true sabbath - spiritual rest through faith in the saving person and work of Christ - eternal disaster awaits them.There is a second reason behind this work. The accusation most often laid against new-covenant theologians is that of 'Antinomian!', with their view of the sabbath being offered as invincible proof of it.
