Dire penalties apply to those who dare disturb the sanctity of the wedding ... These poems form a loose narrative, inspired by elements of Japanese legends involving foxfires, festivals, and a wedding. There is a dark edge to the light of the foxes' love, as the sun pierces a black, thunderous sky. Love, as described here, has the fire and changeability of adolescence, and captures the casualties of the pursuit of love.""
