Angelina Landon knows things. She can see the future, she can read minds, and she knows how people will die. Keri Landon, a young, overwhelmed single mother is desperate to find help for her child. Assistance comes in the form of Dr. Nick Armstrong, a child psychiatrist with a little girl of his own, who believes that Angelina might be schizophrenic. There is an instant connection between Nick and Angelina, while Keri tries to deny the developing attraction she feels for her child's doctor. Nick, dealing with his wife's cancer diagnosis and his ever growing desire for self-medication through alcohol, balances precariously between unethical behavior and the need to protect Angelina and Keri. When Nick crosses the line, it results in Angelina's temporary removal from the home and Keri's realization that she can never allow herself to be in a dependent position again. Seven years later, when Nick re-enters her life, she struggles to maintain an emotional distance even though she can't resist him physically. Angelina, now a lonely teen, has continued to hone her paranormal skills and finds a group of friends who not only believe in her abilities but view them as a special gift. Both Keri and Angelina face deciding whether or not to let others back into their hearts while the security of their world is threatened by the evil spirit who has never stopped in the quest to collect Angelina's soul for her dark world.
