We were just kids, far from home, at a time before iPhones, when a long-distance phone call cost a fortune, but a postage stamp cost only 3 cents. For some of us it was months between visits home. We may not have realized how very blessed we really were that our parents sent us to Blair Academy. The lessons we learned both in and out of the classroom, the close contact we had with our teachers, house masters and classmates, our failures and successes in athletics, participation in dramatic and music groups, attendance at chapel services and so many other activities shaped who we were and who we became.
