Synopsis "The Spirits' Book: The Classic Guide to Spiritism and the Spirit World (Hardcover) "

Allan Kardec's supreme handbook about the world of the spirits and the movement of Spiritism is a valuable and insightful guide to existences beyond our corporeal realm. Kardec begins this work by delving into the historical significance of spirits, their connection with God and the physical universe. How spirits are situated in the world, and how they move unseen between the planes of existence, is discussed. The second part concentrates on The Spirit World in greater detail. The types of spirits and how they are incarnated are detailed, with Kardec proposing that several distinct planes of existence are extant, and that most individuals proceed through life without knowing or seeing their influence. A chapter is devoted to how spirits might intervene in our everyday, corporeal world. Often these excursions have a purpose; the spirits are on a mission to inform someone, or change something, that harmony may be restored.

Allan Kardec, born as Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail in 1804 in Lyon, France, was a prominent educator, philosopher, and writer, recognized as the founder of Spiritism. His works address the study of spiritual phenomena from a scientific and philosophical perspective, establishing the foundations of Spiritism as a doctrine. Among his most important books is "The Spirits' Book" (1857), a fundamental work that compiles spiritual principles and reflections on life, the soul, and existence.

Throughout his life, Kardec published other essential texts, such as "The Book of Mediums" (1861) and "The Gospel According to Spiritism" (1864), which complement and deepen the Spiritist principles. His work significantly influenced nineteenth-century spiritual thought and continues to be studied and practiced by millions of people around the world, consolidating him as a key figure in philosophical and spiritual literature.
