In the summer of 1953, five year old Sandy Ellinson had been found wandering alone across the desert one morning. Her mind had taken refuge in a pleasant dream world to escape the horror that had recently become her reality. The evening before, Giant Ants, mutated by atomic radiation, had attacked their camper/trailer, killing her parents and little brother. That's how Sandy became involved in the only known/unknown Giant Ant attack that had ever occurred. Known because of the 1954 movie, THEM, that had been made to help hide the real incident. Unknown because of the success of the 1954 movie, THEM, in helping hide the incident, and because the government had let it be known that anybody that spoke of the real incident would be put in prison for life, no exceptions. After a brilliant career as a Myrmecologist (Ant Specialist), the widowed Sandy Ericson (formerly Sandy Ellinson) moved back to the location of her childhood tragedy, to study the ants and prepare for THEM to return. Now, when her beautiful granddaughter is visiting, people are starting to mysteriously disappear. All signs say that it's THEM AGAIN, and it's up to Sandy to stop them. In this totally original Sci-Fi comedy homage to the movie, THEM, (which is in Public Domain, and can now be seen for free on the internet), we follow one of the most memorable, but obscure characters in the movie, the Ellinson girl, played to perfection by young Sandy Descher. Even if you've never seen the movie, if you like a witty fast paced story, laced with Giant Ants, Tommy-guns, and an ending that will leave you with goose bumps, this is the book for you.
