What if your dreams were memories of lives you had already lived? Most dreams disappear with the morning. Others return with the force of memory—carrying unfamiliar faces, ancient places, and dangers that feel disturbingly real. In Time-Slips into History, Jim Eridani presents four imaginative stories inspired by historical people, places, and events. Through dreams, visions, and other mysterious passages, ordinary individuals cross the boundaries of time and experience past lives from within. In “Entering the Arena,” a dreamer awakens upon the bloodstained sand of ancient Rome, where a gladiator must face a Barbary lion before a roaring crowd. In “Beware of Skunks,” the reader witnesses a Revolutionary War scout serving under General Francis Marion—the legendary Swamp Fox of the Carolinas. Depending upon stealth for survival, the scout's hidden position is threatened by the unexpected which places him between two deadly dangers. In “All the Mothers of Cannae,” Hannibal’s last elephant carries the reader into one of the ancient world’s most devastating battles, revealing war through memory, loyalty, motherhood, and loss. In “Flowers of Heaven,” the courageous Chinese warrior Shen Yunying fights in the defense of Daozhou, where duty and sacrifice leave echoes that may survive beyond death. Blending historical fiction, reincarnation, supernatural mystery, and adventure, these stories ask an important question: If the past still lives within us, what is learned when it happens to be remembered? Enter four distant worlds. Experience four forgotten lives. Discover the history hidden inside the dream.
