Millet and Walnut are born as identical twins in a barn owned by Rosie and Ed Crenshaw. They grow up to be healthy and happy young adult mice, thanks to the support and wisdom offered by their parents and grandparents. Walnut moves to a nearby barn to start a family of his own, but Millet decides to leave barn life behind when he meets Candy, a house mouse, and moves into the Crenshaw farmhouse to be with her. Now for the first time Millet gets to experience the delicious and addictive taste of human food--most of which is anything but natural. It isn't long before this way of eating starts to pose very serious health threats to Millet, Candy and their baby Azure. Even the Crenshaw's two children Ella and Hector are suffering as a result of consuming too much junk food. Just as the situation is threatening to spiral out of control, Millet has a startling dream which gives him renewed hope. It will require great courage and a brilliant strategy on the part of Millet and his family to regain what they had lost.
