Nicole Arend is a British author known for her series of young adult novels VAMPS, which combines elements of fantasy and romance with a fresh and modern perspective. Before dedicating herself to writing, Arend traveled the world working in documentary production. Her foray into literature began when she wrote the book accompanying the documentary series Lost on Channel 4. She enjoyed the process so much that she decided to take a writing course for young adults at City Lit, which led her to become a fan of vampire fiction.

Currently, Arend resides in London with her husband, her nearly adult children, her teenage daughter, and two impressive Siberian cats.
