Hwang Bo-Reum is a Korean writer who resides in Seoul. After publishing three essay books (I Will Read Every Day, I Tried Kickboxing for the First Time, and This Distance Is Perfect), Welcome to Hyunam-dong Bookstore is her first novel.

Initially published in digital format, this book sparked huge interest among readers, who have turned it into an international phenomenon soon to be published in twenty countries and has already sold over three million copies.
