This book came about after a Christmas break vacation and discussions with the author's children and his students. The author asked them simple questions: Why is Christmas celebrated? How do you celebrate Christmas? Why do you celebrate Christmas? How does your family celebrate Christmas? And the answers varied, with many good answers given, but none were able to answer with the core truth. When the author's wife started reading the preliminary version of this book to his children, the conversation between them was a great reward to hear. What is Christmas? If a family reads this book and discusses that question and reflects upon it, this author would be grateful.
