Kazuki Takahashi (1961–2022) was a Japanese manga artist and creator, globally known as the author of Yu-Gi-Oh!. He started his career as a mangaka in the 1980s, but rose to fame in 1996 with the publication of Yu-Gi-Oh! in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. The series combined games, action, and supernatural elements, and spawned a global phenomenon that included a successful anime, movies, and the popular card game. Takahashi was also a character designer and remained linked to the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe for years. He was found deceased in July 2022, leaving a significant legacy in pop culture and the entertainment industry.
