Ich habe in meiner Schrift über Kindbettfieber bewiesen, da auch in Berlin, so wie anderorts der geburtshilfliche Unterricht in Betreff des Kindbettfiebers deshalb grundschlecht sei, weil auch in Berlin die Professoren der Geburtshilfe selbst, so wie die Professoren der Geburtshilfe anderorts nicht wissen, was Puerperal-Fieber sei. Dieses Nichtwissen habe ich in Bezug auf Prof. Eduard Martin in Berlin folgender Weise stylisirt. Busch's Nachfolger, Prof. Eduard Martin hat mir durch seinen Vortrag, gehalten am 9. November 1858 in der Gesellschaft für Geburtshilfe in Berlin: Ueber Mutterröhrenentzündung und Ergu des eitrigen Secretes in die Bauchhöhle als eine Ursache der Bauchfellentzündung bei Wöchnerinen die Ueberzeugung verschafft, da die puerperale Sonne, welche in Wien im Jahre 1847 aufgegangen, seinen Geist noch nicht erleuchtet hat.
