Alicia Genovese
(Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1953) Poet and essayist. She currently serves as a full professor in the writing arts program at the National University of the Arts. She earned a PhD in Latin American literature at the University of Florida. She received a poetry creation scholarship from the National Fund for the Arts in 1999 and the John S. Guggenheim in 2002. In 2015, she was awarded the Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize for her work La contingencia.

She has published critiques and journalistic notes in various cultural supplements and specialized magazines. Among her books are: El cielo posible (1977); El mundo encima (1982); El borde es un río (1997); La doble voz. Poetas argentinas contemporáneas (1998); Química diurna (2004); La hybris (2007); Aguas (2013); La línea del desierto (2018); Ahí lejos todavía (2018); Sobre la emoción en el poema (2019), and Oro en la lejanía (2021).

The Fondo de Cultura Económica has published Leer poesía. Lo leve, lo grave, lo opaco (2011), for which she received the Municipal Prize in the Essay category.
