Anne Schützenberger
Of French nationality, born in 1919. She earned a bachelor's degree in Law and a PhD in Psychology. During World War II, she participated in the Resistance and in 1945 received the Prix de l'Alié à la Résistance. A Fulbright scholarship allowed her to specialize in the United States in social psychology and group dynamics. She worked with Margaret Mead and Gregory Bateson in the Palo Alto group. She was a co-founder of the International Association of Group Psychotherapy and, since 1967, professor emerita at the University of Nice. Author, among others, of the books The Will to Live, Moving Beyond Grief (with Evelyne Bissone Jeufroy, Taurus, 2008) and Oh, My Ancestors! (Taurus, 2008), she passed away in 2018.
