Bernard Hurault
Bernardo Hurault (Paris, France, August 15, 1924-Concepción, Chile, December 16, 2004) was the priest and researcher responsible for the translation of the Bible into Spanish known as the Latin American Bible,12 published in 1970, characterized by its accessible language and annotations that contextualize details and meanings that have been lost over time. To date, more than 36,000,000 copies have been sold.

Later, in 1986 Father Bernardo developed translations into the indigenous languages of the Philippines and Taiwan. He then prepared the Pastoral Bible in English, Tagalog, Cebuano, and Ilongo. In 1990, he embarked on the project to publish a Pastoral Bible in Chinese, first for outside China, and then for the people of Mainland China.

Hurault died at the age of eighty in the city of Concepción, Chile, on December 16, 2004. His last years were spent in the Philippines, from where he commanded the barely mentioned biblical works for the East.
