Claudio Bertoni
Claudio Bertoni (Santiago, 1946) is a Chilean poet, photographer, and visual artist whose work has left an indelible mark on contemporary literature. His poetry, confessional in tone and deeply human, explores themes such as desire, fragility, and memory with rawness and humor. Among his most notable books are El cansador intrabajable (1973), Sentado en la cuneta (1990), Ni yo (1996), Una carta (1999), Harakiri (2004), En qué quedamos (2007), and The Price of Love (2018). In 2023, he published Novela, a prose work that continues his exploration of the intimate and the everyday.

Bertoni has been recognized with the Guggenheim Fellowship (1993), the Best Literary Works Award for Ni yo (1997) and Harakiri (2005), and the National Humor Award (2010). His straightforward, unadorned style has influenced generations of readers and writers, establishing him as a key figure in Chilean poetry. He currently resides in Concón, Valparaíso Region, where he continues to create and challenge the boundaries between art and life.
