Cuadradito y Circulito

Square and Circle are two endearing characters created by Argentine artist María Villalba, known on social networks as "Maivira". These geometric figures, a red square and a blue circle, became a viral phenomenon for their ability to represent, with simplicity and tenderness, individual differences and the importance of empathy and acceptance.

The story, popularized initially through a short animation and later adapted to an illustrated book, narrates how Circle arrives in a community of squares, facing exclusion for not fitting into the mold both literally and symbolically. Throughout the story, Circle's frustrated attempts to adapt are shown, until finally the path to understanding and social transformation is opened. The message is clear: not everyone should fit in, but rather the environment should open up to diversity.

Turned into an educational and social tool, the story has been used in schools, workshops, and inclusion campaigns to promote values such as respect, diversity, and non-discrimination. Square and Circle are today a powerful visual symbol of coexistence, empathy, and cultural change.
