Marquis of Torrebermeja and Count of Lagunas, born in Lima, son of a Belgian father and Peruvian mother. Studied Philosophy of Law at the University of Paris. Doctor of Law, philosopher, and historian. Full Member of the Peruvian Academies of Language, History, and Law, as well as a corresponding member of the Royal Spanish Academy of Language, the Royal Spanish Academy of History, the National Academy of History of Argentina, and the Chilean Society of History. Nummum Memoriale Medal from Charles University in Prague. Speaker at universities in Israel, Italy, the United States, Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador. Has published numerous books and some of his works have been translated into Chinese and Slovenian.
