Francisco Javier Ansuátegui Roig
Francisco Javier Ansuátegui Roig (Madrid, 1965) is a distinguished jurist and professor of Philosophy of Law at Carlos III University of Madrid. He holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and earned his PhD at Carlos III University under the supervision of Gregorio Peces-Barba Martínez. Throughout his academic career, he has taught at various institutions, including the University of Jaén and the Complutense University. He currently heads the Bartolomé de las Casas Human Rights Institute and chairs the Spanish Society of Legal and Political Philosophy. Additionally, he is the director of the "Rights and Freedoms" journal.

Among his most notable publications are "Doctrinal Origins of Freedom of Expression" (1994), "Neo-institutionalist Legal Positivism" (1996), and "Power, Legal System, Rights" (1997). He has also co-edited works such as "Fragments of Legal Theory" (2005) and "Education for Citizenship and Human Rights" (2007). His research focuses on the philosophy of law, legal theory, and human rights, having coordinated the "History of Fundamental Rights" project, which involved more than 200 researchers and resulted in the publication of over 15 volumes.
