Francisco Labastida Ochoa
Francisco Labastida Ochoa (Los Mochis, Sinaloa, August 14, 1942) is a Mexican economist and politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). Throughout his career, he has held various public offices, including Governor of Sinaloa (1987-1992), Secretary of the Interior, and presidential candidate in 2000, being the first PRI candidate to lose a presidential election.
In 2024, Labastida published his political autobiography titled Systematic Doubt, where he recalls his experiences in different governments and analyzes, with self-criticism, economic and political decisions made in recent decades.
