Jorge Edwards
Jorge Edwards Valdés (Santiago, June 29, 1931-Madrid, March 17, 2023) was a Chilean writer, literary critic, journalist, and diplomat who also held Spanish nationality since 2010
A full member of the Chilean Academy of Language, he was awarded numerous honors, including the Chilean National Literature Prize 1994 and the Cervantes Prize 1999
Edwards was a regular contributor to various newspapers, in Chile (his opinion column appeared every Friday in La Segunda), Argentina (La Nación), Spain (El País), France (Le Monde), and Italy (Corriere della Sera)
