Jorge García Badaracco
Jorge Enrique García Badaracco (Buenos Aires, November 8, 1923 - Buenos Aires, September 14, 2010) was a distinguished Argentine psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, known for his contributions to the treatment of severe mental disorders. He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with honors in Medicine in 1947. In 1950, he moved to Paris to complete his psychiatric and psychoanalytic training, working at the Sainte-Anne Hospital alongside Professor Julián de Ajuriaguerra.

A pioneer in his field, García Badaracco created the first Psychoanalytic Multifamily Therapeutic Community and organized in 1964 the first day hospital for psychiatric patients in Buenos Aires. Among his notable works are "Psychoanalytic Multifamily Therapeutic Community" (1989), "Multifamily Psychoanalysis: The others in us and the discovery of the self" (2000), and "Demons of the mind: Biography of a schizophrenia" (2005). His work was recognized in 2005 with the Master of Argentine Medicine award given by the National Academy of Medicine.
