José Manuel Sánchez Ron
José Manuel Sánchez Ron (Madrid, January 6, 1949) is a Spanish physicist, science historian, and academic. He graduated in Physical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1971 and obtained his PhD in 1978 at University College London. He has been a professor of the History of Science at the Autonomous University of Madrid and a member of institutions such as the Royal Spanish Academy, where he has held chair G since 2003, and the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences.
Author of more than forty books and over four hundred publications, his work focuses on the history of science, especially physics of the 19th and 20th centuries. Among his notable titles are "The Century of Science" (2000) and "The World After the Revolution: Physics in the Second Half of the 20th Century" (2015), for which he received the National Essay Prize in 2015. Additionally, he has directed scientific dissemination collections and collaborated with media outlets such as "El País" and "El Cultural".
