Manuel Fernández López
Manuel Fernández López (Buenos Aires, November 23, 1941) is a prominent Argentine economist, with a degree in Political Economy and a PhD in Economic Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He has been a full professor and emeritus at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the UBA, and a member of the National Academy of Economic Sciences. His academic work has focused on applied economic analysis and the history of economic thought. In recognition of his career, he received the Konex Award in 1996 in the category of Applied Economic Analysis.
Among his most notable works are Introduction to the History of Economic Thought (1973), Linear Economic Models (1977), Memoirs of Manuel Belgrano (1992), Economy and Work (1993), History of Economic Thought (1998), and Economy and Argentine Economists (2007). These publications, in the field of economic essay and the history of economic thought, have been fundamental in understanding the evolution of economic ideas and their application in the Argentine context.
