María José Seoane
María Seoane (1948-2023) was a prominent Argentine journalist and writer. Throughout her career, she published thirteen books focused on Argentine history, including titles like "La noche de los lápices" (2013) and "El dictador" (2010). These works, which combine historical essay with investigative journalism, earned her accolades such as the Konex Award for merit in Letters in 1994 and the Rodolfo Walsh Award in 2002.
In addition to her literary work, Seoane was the director of Radio Nacional from 2009 to 2015, a period during which she strengthened the station's cultural and educational programming. Her commitment to the defense of human rights and freedom of expression earned her the title of Distinguished Citizen of the City of Buenos Aires in 2021.
