Merlina Acevedo
Merlina Acevedo (Mexico City, 1970) is a Mexican writer, visual artist, musician, and photographer, known for her mastery in creating palindromes and aphorisms. She began her literary foray in 2010 through Twitter, where her wit and brevity earned her a wide audience. She has been published in magazines such as Letras Libres and Nexos, and is the author of Sand Clocks. Pawns of Troy (2013), presented at the International Book Fair of Guadalajara, and Apholíndromos (2016), a handcrafted edition with photographs taken by herself
In 2021, she launched Mirrors, a bilingual collection of palindromic poems accompanied by visual works, published by Penteract Press. Her work is characterized by the combination of artistic disciplines, reflecting her training in music, painting, and chess, and has been highlighted for her ability to merge playfulness with literary depth.
