Micaela Chirif
Micaela Chirif (Lima, 1973) is a Peruvian writer and poet specialized in children's and young adult literature. She holds a degree in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a master's degree in Children's and Young Adult Books and Literature from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, having developed a body of work that includes poetry and picture books, as well as venturing into informational books.
Among her works are "Goodnight, Martina" (2009), "Breakfast" (2013), "You better watch out, mastodon" (2014), "Where is Tomás?" (2016) and "The Sea" (2019). These books, recognized for their literary quality, have been included in selections such as White Ravens and the IBBY Honour List. In 2019, "The Sea" received the Hispano-American Poetry Prize for Children.
