Nate Piekos

Nate Piekos, also known as Blambot, is a graphic designer and comic book letterer widely recognized in the industry. He graduated in graphic design and, in the early 2000s, began working with major publishers such as Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, and BOOM! Studios. He founded Blambot, a digital font platform specialized in comics, widely used by both independent creators and professionals in the field.

His work includes the creation of typefaces and comic book lettering, tasks ranging from designing speech bubbles and sound effects to integrating texts into visual narrative. He has received awards such as the Ringo and has been nominated for the Eisner and other accolades for his contribution to comic design.

In 2021, he published The Essential Guide to Comic Book Lettering, a technical book that became a reference for professionals and aspirants in the industry. His approach combines technique, visual clarity, and understanding of narrative rhythm.

In You Look Like Death: Tales from The Umbrella Academy, Piekos was the lead letterer. His work helped define the emotional tone of the story, facilitating reading and reinforcing the visual atmosphere with a polished and expressive style.
