Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui
Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui (La Paz, 1949) is a Bolivian sociologist, historian, and activist of Aymara descent, known for her critical thinking on coloniality, mestizaje, and indigenous epistemologies. Honorary Doctorate from Universidad Mayor de San Andrés and Universidad Nacional de San Luis, she has been a professor at UMSA for over three decades and founder of the Andean Oral History Workshop (THOA), from where she has promoted decolonizing methodologies. Her work has been fundamental in decolonial studies and in the analysis of social movements in Latin America.
