Swami Prajnanananda Saraswati
Swami Prajnanananda Saraswati was a Hindu monk and scholar born in August 1884 in Barisal, now Bangladesh. Also known as Satish Chandra Mukhopadhya, he played a prominent role in the Bengali nationalist movement and in the spread of spiritual and philosophical knowledge in India. He was a key figure in the founding of the Sree Saraswati Press in Kolkata in 1923, a printing house that became an important center for the publication of nationalist and academic literature.
Among his most notable works is the edition of the Vedantadarsana, published in 1867, which is part of the Chowkhamba Sanskrit Series.
